To continue our journey in exploring Rotary International's history, way back in 1962, the first Interact Club was formed for youth to  develop leadership skills.  1965 brought Rotary International's support of global and district grants to support on-the-ground projects.  (Our club makes sure to take advantage of these yearly grants!)  That same year, Group Study Exchange began for business professionals to visit other countries to meet other business colleagues.  Following the Interact Club philosophy, Rotaract Clubs began in 1968 to foster leadership and service in college-age young adults.  In years to follow, the Rotary Youth Exchange began, and programs to develop health, hunger and humanitarian rights started.  Many of these programs are still active today and are part of Rotary's 7 Areas of Service.  To read more about Rotary's history, including the expanding of Rotary's global services, click here.
