World Polio Day is October 24th. As you may recall, there are only 2 countries where Polio is still endemic: Pakistan and Afghanistan. There is no cure for Polio, but Rotary International and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation have partnered to eradicate this terrible disease, with an incredible 99.9% reduction in cases since 1979. The fight continues. Rotary Clubs all over the World raise funds to get vaccinations to at-risk populations, with over 2.1 BILLION raised so far.
